White River Valley Electric Cooperative Approves Plugged-In Grant Monies
Branson, Missouri –
White River Valley Electric Cooperative is proud to announce the approval of $75,000 in grant monies for the “Plugged-In” Community Enhancement Program.
“Plugged-In” provides grants and old-fashioned sweat equity to organizations seeking assistance for community-driven projects in Taney, Stone, Christian, Douglas, and Ozark Counties. The program is designed to grow area economies, promote community revitalization, and strengthen overall livability in each county. Grants are given to organizations that offer strong missions, proposals, and track-records. Up to $15,000 in grant monies are awarded to each county project plus volunteer participation supplied by WRVEC employees, where applicable.
The grant monies will be used for a wide variety of projects throughout our five-county service territory. Some of the projects include:
- A new community electric sign.
- A town square beautification initiative.
- Installation of new community walking trails.
- Updating a community playground.
- Rebuilding a public access dock.
“This is our first year and we are really excited to support our local communities in efforts that will make a positive impact on the places we all call home.” Said WRVEC Manager of Communications and Member Engagement, Cassie Cunningham.
