Grant applications now open for local teachers

Branson, Missouri

White River Valley Electric Cooperative has opened applications for Power Up, its annual educational grant program. To enhance the education of area students, funds are allocated from Operation Round Up to support projects outside normal public-school funding for grades Pre-K-12.

“Projects that utilize funding from Power Up have a positive impact on our communities,” said Nathan Stearns, WRVEC Community Programs Coordinator. “We are proud to offer a grant program that aids teachers in providing the well-rounded education that the Ozarks are known for.”

Teachers at schools located within WRVEC’s five-county service territory are eligible to apply. Individual teachers may each submit one application per year for up to $750.

To be considered, proposals must meet the standards of the school’s improvement plan, promoting higher learning. A completed application must be submitted online and include:

— Teacher’s plan

— Itemized list of supplies requested (not to exceed $750)

— Letter of project approval from the school district’s administrative office and contact information

Application deadline is October 31, 2020. The application and further information can be found at https://www.whiteriver.org/community/operation-round-up/power-up/
