Fishing tournament to reel in community benefits

Branson, Missouri
Anglers will gather on May 2, 2020 to participate in White River Valley Electric Cooperative’s annual Hooked on Education Bass Fishing Tournament. The tournament benefits the Cooperative’s Operation Round Up Program. The ORU program has collected and distributed more than $3.8 million to students, local organizations, and families throughout the five-county service area.

The first flight will launch at 7 a.m. from Pontiac Cove Marina on Bull Shoals Lake. Prizes include a 70 percent payout and a raffle. Online registration is open until May 1. Day of registration and check-in will begin at 5 a.m.

“We are looking forward to a great day fishing for a great cause,” said Community Programs Coordinator Nathan Stearns. The event draws near 200 boats.

The fee for a two-person team is $150. The official weigh-in begins at 3 p.m. and is open to the public to come watch. Find more information at whiteriver.org.
