Fishing tournament to reel in benefits for those in need
Branson, Missouri –
Anglers will gather on May 4, 2019 to participate in White River Valley Electric Cooperative’s annual Hooked on Education Bass Fishing Tournament. The tournament benefits the Cooperative’s Operation Round Up Program. The ORU program has collected and distributed more than $3.6 million to students, local organizations, and families throughout the five-county service area.
The first flight will launch at 7 a.m. from Pontiac Cove Marina on Bull Shoals Lake. Prizes include a 70 percent payout and a raffle. Online registration is open until April 30. Day of registration and check-in will begin at 5 a.m.
“We’re are excited about the new location this year and are expecting a great turnout,” said Programs Coordinator Kelsey Pemberton. The event draws near 200 boats.
The fee for a two-person team is $120. The official weigh-in begins at 3 p.m. and is open to the public to come watch. Find more information at whiteriver.org.
