accounting student intern – (paid internship) – BRANSON OFFICE
JOB SUMMARY
As an Accounting Intern you will assist the accounting department in all activities pertaining to White River Connect’s accounting functions, contributing to the organization’s overall success.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist the accounting team on specific projects and daily tasks as needed.
- Asset Verification: Aid in the task of tracking and reporting fixed assets.
- Record Retention: Assist in efforts to organize accounting records within the applicable timeframes.
- General Ledger Uniformity: Coordinate accounts, descriptions, departments, and activity codes.
- Material Inventory: Support team with tracking and managing our inventory system.
- Account Reconciliations: Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
- Daily and Monthly Journal Entries: Prepare journal entries to produce accurate financial statements.
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by manager.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Proficient written and verbal communication skills, having the ability to communicate with other employees and deal with diverse groups of people to solve problems.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to take directions on a variety of projects simultaneously and meet established goals.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Enrolled in a college or university pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Currently maintaining a cumulative GPA of at least a B+ and providing current transcripts.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; familiarity with accounting software is a plus.
- No prior knowledge of Connect is needed for this position, yet candidate must demonstrate the desire to excel into an accounting related field.
- Ability to analyze internal information, maintain an organized workspace, demonstrate a willingness to learn, and uphold a positive attitude.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Majority of the work will be performed indoors with regular posted office hours. Position may require travel to acquire supplies from time to time. Normal safety precautions and practices are required. The regular work schedule is Monday through Friday.
PHYSICAL EFFORT AND DEXTERITY
- Frequent physical activity including sitting at a desk for prolonged periods of time, standing, walking, stooping, bending, lifting, and carrying materials under 15 pounds.
MACHINES, TOOLS, AND EQUIPMENT
- Capable of operating a personal computer, calculator, printer, copy machine, telephone, shredder, and any other required office equipment.
VISUAL ACUITY, HEARING, AND SPEAKING
- Able to review and analyze financial documents and enter data into our accounting system with accuracy. Actively listen to understand instructions and contribute effectively. Must be able to communicate clearly and accurately for work and safety compliance.
Note: This job description is for a Student Internship. This is a temporary position offering no more than 336 total hours of employment. This position is a paid position, yet no benefits are provided with such position. Management retains the right to assign or reassign duties and/or responsibilities at any time.
