Cooperative opens election window and hosts 83rd annual meeting
Branson, MO –
White River Valley Electric Cooperative to virtually host its 83rd Annual Meeting on Thursday, September 1, 2022. The meeting is live-streamed at WhiteRiverMeeting.com that morning at 10 a.m. Members are encouraged to tune-in virtually. The Cooperative provides a call-in option for those who do not use or have access to the Internet.
Voting options are available to accommodate everyone. Members cast their votes online or request paper ballots to be mailed directly to homes and businesses in a pre-addressed, postage-paid return envelope. There is also an in-person voting option for members who need additional assistance. Wi-Fi hot spots are available in each WRVEC office parking lot.
The voting window is open now through August 26th. Members cast their ballots for board candidates and the proposed bylaw amendment during this time. Members are required to verify their unique membership account number and PIN found on their monthly invoice to participate in the election. The Association of Missouri Electric Cooperatives, a third-party, securely handles the election. They tally all votes and deliver the results live during the virtual meeting.
“Members provided great feedback on our virtual meeting last year and participation spoke volumes.” Said Cassie Cunningham, Manager of Communications and Member Engagement “In addition to a significant cost-savings, we had the highest number of participating voters than any annual meeting held before!”
The increased participation shows that every member has an opportunity to play an active role in the Cooperative. Member engagement makes the convenient and cost-effective virtual format an excellent choice. White River Valley continues to deliver important information about the Cooperative while passing on the significant savings that the virtual meeting provides.
