White River Valley Electric Cooperation

Annual Meeting September 11, 2010

Electric cooperative utilities are unique in that they are owned and controlled by the consumers they serve. As a member-owner of White River Valley Electric Cooperative (WRVEC), your attendance at the annual meeting is therefore very important.

The annual meeting is held during the month of September. Although there is much to see and do at the meeting, the primary purpose of the event is to elect board members, review the previous year’s operations, and transact any other necessary business. CEO Chris Hamon gives an annual report and holds a question and answer session, making it a great opportunity for members to learn more about WRVEC.

This is an event the whole family will enjoy…

There is entertainment provided along with complimentary coffee, soft drinks, kettle corn, ice cream, donuts, sugar-free cookies and apples. You’ll also be treated to member gifts and attendance prizes, including several certificates for free electricity which are given away at the meeting. And best of all, admission is free to WRVEC members.

Plus, there are activities for children such as interactive inflatable games and face painting, and entertainment by Ronzo the Clown and Buddy Bear.  You’ll also find up to 20 different booths featuring information about water heaters, weather radios, energy efficiency, and much more.

We also feature a health fair sponsored by Skaggs Community Health Center offering free blood pressure and peak lung flow capacity tests. For members who are interested, glucose and cholesterol screening is available for a nominal fee.*

Plan now to attend the annual meeting!

* Accurate glucose and cholesterol screening requires a 12-hour fast prior to testing. For a small fee you may also request PSA screening, which does not require a fasting period.
